With Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich and iOS 5, Windows Phone 7 needed an update to fill in the missing pieces. The latest release of Windows Phone called Mango has hundreds of improvements and new features.

Phone
Starting off with the look and feel, Windows Phone 7.5 offers improved Live Tiles on Start dish up more (and quicker) updates on your apps, and they’re also a whole lot of fun—the Pictures Tile animates with a slideshow of your favorite snapshots and Group Tiles flash your friends’ latest updates. The phone hass been upgraded with features like Custom ringtones which you can use to create your own ringtones using MP3 and WMA files. A visual voicemail helps you to see your voicemails in an list and listen to them on your phone.
Also, the new battery saver feature which allows your mobile phone battery to last a bit longer.
Email & Messaging
A lot of improvement has been done in speech recognition allowing you to send a text with your voice much more easily. It can also read you an incoming text message and then you can use Speech to dictate and send your reply. Threads allow you to save all your chats (Text, mail, facebook, messenger, etc.) at one place so that you can access it easily.
Smarter apps
Multitasking is one of the best thing of Windows Phone 7.5. Many apps can run in the background, so you don’t need to shut one down to use another—plus you can switch between open apps in a flash. A clever calendar allows you to view multiple sub-calendars within a single account, see and respond to Facebook events, and create a to-do list complete with due dates and reminders. Your Outlook tasks will show up there, too! Moreover, marketplace has an ever-expanding lineup of standout apps and marquee games, and it’s now easier to find what you want in the online store. You can search for places nearby and get step-by-step directions using Bing maps. A revamped Games Hub can do more including track your achievements, dress up your avatar, and get messages from your Xbox LIVE friends.
Networking
Internet connection sharing allows you to turn your phone into a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot by sharing your Internet connection with your laptop and other devices. Now you can also connect to hidden Wi-Fi networks (networks that don’t broadcast their network name).

Pictures & Camera
Now you can directly share your videos via sending them in email or posting them to Facebook or Windows Live. Picture tagging facilitates your phone to automatically detect untagged faces when you’re uploading pictures to Facebook or Windows Live—just tap, tag, and post. Also, if you change camera settings—for instance, photo resolution, brightness, or another option your phone manufacturer might have included—you can save them for the next time you use the camera. The redesigned Pictures Hub has just got more personal, more social, and more fun.
Office Mobile
Windows Phone is always famous for office and productive work. You can synchronize your office docs with Skydrive so that you can access it from anywhere or you can edit some of them on your phone now, then edit some more on your computer later. Office Excel has been much more improved. Office 365 takes your business to the cloud and Windows Phone supports Office 365 right out of the box. Check off your errands one-by-one with the handy new feature in OneNote called OneNote to-do lists.
My Phone
My Phone helps you to manage your phone on the web. Find a lost phone, see your pictures and Xbox stats, reinstall apps, and more on the My Phone page.
Personally speaking, Windows Phone 7.5 Mango is the most stable mobile operating system so far. I have used Apple iPhone as well as Android. I have seen numerous low memory issues, force close warnings, random resets, freezes on apps and connections, and more on Android. iOS, though being a very user friendly platform, I have experienced complete lockups and failure to launch on every iPhone and even on my iPad 2. But so far Windows Phone has never shown any kind of such poor things. I have never reset a Winows Phone from past one year as in the case of Apple iPhone (iOS) and Android.
